Out of the Box

By chase
Another from my session with the modified box.....I did warn you Wink
Behind the book, bottles etc is the opening to the box, I kept it shut for this one but had a bash with it opened on another image.
Changing too many things all at once was steps ....far too easy to go for it all at once, not changing the lighting method or the bg. So this is similar to my first offering....sorry.
I like the books and cones out of the box, compositionally I think it looks more thought about.

Lit by daylight camera left, I used my big soft box to stop some of the light from my window, the result being less highlights and a nice drop of light creeping over the top of the soft box but still kept the darkness....I like dark Smile
Raw file converted in Lightroom, final adjustments in Photoshop.

Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.
Please stay safe everyone.

Good to see you experimenting, but still a bit too dark for me to see this to its best effect. David

So well arranged it looks like a natural scene from your living room apart from the quirky pomegranate!

I am saving that story for another day Moira but, the ending reads....
So Willies' ordeal in the castle and Tommys' night of suspense were all for the best, for besides gaining such a good friend, they had learned lessons for life.

Book used to belong to my Great Grandad but his name was Reggie Wink

Thanks everyone.

The light in general Malc or the chink of light spilling over the soft box ?
I thought this one was better balanced with the typical reversel 'L' shape in the frame, also I thought the books in the box balanced out the bottles better. Is that where you are coming from ?

Tom, great to have your UA, many thanks, appreciated.

The chink of light.
The placing of the larger objects - books and bottles along the same diagonal as the light.
Plus the fact that you have a triangle formed by the books, bottles and the books/cones. Plus, leaving one compartment almost empty works better than having all filled.

Really love this one. Even more than the last one. But you will have to wait a few hours for an award from me. But...I'm sure there will be several by then.
