Came across this one from the archives, and hadn't thought it worthy of processing and uploading at the time.
Maybe with fresh eyes, I saw it differently. The EPZ community will decide if it was worth uploading or not.
MamTor early one September morning in 2007 when out with Richard Wheeler. A superb morning to be out. This was the first shot I took that day before the sun rose.
Have a good weekend everyone.
More than worthy, Martin! Where would we be without 'archives'!
I'd post it if it was in my archives
Excellent comp' and great light..
Beautiful capture, so so so good
Good capture of the colours in the sky...
lovely view to record from their - last time I was there with the camera it was shrouded in fog until mid morning!
Stunning shot, comp, and colours...
I remember it well - I was on Over Owler that morning. I think you guys had the best spot though.
twas a bit good was this morning martin, remember it well, nice to have a refresher
Like the tones in this Martin - well worth posting.
First shots never seem to get an airing in my archives either Martin. There always seems to be better stuff later on. But for atmosphere, this is bang on the money.
This needs cropping into a letter box as theres far too much dark in the foreground. At least a quarter of the way up the image.
Superb vista Martin. Ron.
Terrific drama in the sky colour Martin, great clarity (shouldn't use that word apparently).
I agree with Robert ("Falconer") that a crop would certainly enhance this image still further, Martin, but there's great strength in the simplicity of this beautifully lit scene. Sounds like we're all going through our archives!
defo worth uploading mate, a cracker.
Fantastic detail in this Martin!!!
Well worth it Martin. I looked at the crop, but I also like the almost mirror effect that the dark cloud has to the land...the large version also shows more of the detail in the foreground
I really do think a letter box shape would make a more powerful picture. A trick I have been told before is to crop the picture where it might need to be done and then look at the area being cut out rather than the image and see if that part of the picture is actually doing anything. I dont think the ground mirrors the clouds.
A gorgeous range of colour - with a very nice view too
Worth is always subjective - but I like this, so I'm glad you shared it. It is so nice to see the place without a covering of humanity. Must try the early thing up there, really must...
