Cracking detail in the large version love the smoke from the chimney at house on the top of the hill, I'd go for the Unicorn urin as it gives a nice sepia tone if you leave it in the sun for a couple of days and it gives the rest of us a chance as it will make your shot stink!

Pooch.

I did wonder if I could actually fix the print with Unicorn wee as they feed on dew and moth spit but now my mind is put at ease.

Don't know, Ian..what is going on.

Mornin,.....slow, slow, quic....nope just slow

cheers

A fine BW conversion is this so I look forward to the tutorial (as long as it's free).

Even I would'nt clone out the telegraph pole and wires, there's no need.

Apologies for click and running earlier ... bloody work commitments.

Deserves to do well. Great detail, conversion's not too shabby, but it's the chimney smoke that finishes this perfectly for me.

A picture with two separate areas of interest to me. You have the boat etc on the water in the foreground, and the houses on the hillside in the background. It works perfectly.

I've been working on B&W's for a month now so I'm looking forward to the tutorial as well. This is a fine example of what I would someday like to accomplish. I don't think I can find a subject like this but the tones and technique and how you see the light and contrast intrigues me.

Patrick

PS - And why haven't you seen me upload a B&W yet? Because they are all rubbish! ...but not for long I hope.

A really classy, well composed shot Keith. It suits the mono treatment very well.
I have always liked Staithes. It was the first place I was ever taken on holiday as a kid. (1941, and the foreshore was closed off with rolls of barbedwire to keep the enemy out !)
