An oystercatcher looking for its lunch on the edge of South Lake at Slimbridge. This was taken from the Hogarth hide on my visit to the Wetlands Centre on Monday.
looks like he caught something, what a great image!
I hate to think what he has had his beak in Ed !!
Haha, well he sure dug deep!! Delightful image Ed.. Love his colours.
Thats one mucky bill Ed. Hope he's got a flannel. Peter.
Super shot of this beauty.
C'mon, Ed, don't you give your birds a little wash and brush up, first
...and she's standing cross-legged, desperate for the loo, while you faff about with that lens cap ...!!!
No wonder she's "giving you the eye" ...!!!
Nowhere near as good as yesterday's upload !!!
Lovely shot. Great pose.
An excellent capture, Ed, she obviously found a tasty, if somewhat grubby, morsel in that muddy water Carol
What a mucky fella. Lovely shot and one of my fave birds.
So not lunch then???
Great capture albeit mucky
Great capture Ed.
Simon beat me to it - I was going to suggest you get your models to wash before having their picture taken!
You've done well here Ed - I love the bright beak, legs and eye.
Haven't managed to get as close as this to an oystercatcher - we saw plenty in the Hebrides.
Great shot, sharp and well exposed, not always easy with predominantly dark birds
Excellent shot, Ed.
Lovely shot Ed.
"Down and dirty" eh?
A very fine Oyster Catcher, Ed. He's certainly been putting that beak to good use !
Needs to wash his beak before lunch, great capture Ed
Smashing shot Ed, you certainly are finding some wonderful Bird Life.
Great image of a dirty feeder, Ed
You did well here Ed, lovely shot
Many thanks for all your comments and clicks, they are much appreciated, Ed
Great shot Ed. Cathy
Excellent shot - I love these colourful, agrumentative birds.
The red beak and legs does make them so photogenic.
A super capture of one of my favourite birds.
Looks really good with that mud halfway up its beak.
