Oystercatchers On The Rocks.

By Tooma
I climbed about 45 feet up some fairly steep rocks in quite a high wind, much to Mo's terror and cries to be careful and to get back down, because I could hear these lovely wee characters calling out above the crash of the waves on the shore side, and the howl of the wind, which was a lot more obvious from the height I was then up. I did not get as many quality shots as I would have liked, because of having to zoom a lot, and getting shook by the wind. This was at Portpatrick in Galloway, and this is one of my more successful shots. I love the colours in this frame.
Eventually I gave way to Mo's anxious calls, and made my way carefully down to ground. You see, I don't do climbing, well not just now anyway. I meant to get back to the spot in milder weather, but never got around to it. Another time, I hope.

A fascinating, well dressed bird--- His bright red beak shows off well within the beautiful meadow of the bg!

Here is a short video from where I took my shot, to let you hear the Oystercatchers distinctive call.

An excellent image with an even better accompanying vide clip.

Super image and great colours ....I hit Seaton down in Devon on Saturday and had a simular experience as the river Axe was on low tide ....alas no camera ....your video clip really captures that sense of been there

You sure get around, Vince. Not even a cell-phone with you? Ahh, frustrating right enough.
