Pacific Nettle

By gajewski
Tonight we were at a special event at the Aquarium of the Pacific here in Long Beach, California.
The lights in the lobby were down low and likewise the light in all of the aquariums was very low -- simulating night in the ocean.
This is one of the jelly fish known as a Pacific Nettle. It's sting is similar to a bee sting.

Excellent crop, Walter, and the colours look good. Nicely captured in difficult conditions.

Totally enviable!

The colors and shapes of these creatures fascinates-- You are getting really good with low light images!

Tiny transparent Mediterranean versions of this has rather long tentacles and their touch on the skin vein-like swellings that burn you at least for six or seven hours. I have had sot so many shots of them when skin diving or swimming, Walter. This is great and very colourful, you captured it well.

Those complementary yellow and purple tones really make this one pop Walter. Soft and subdued and impressive at ISO 6400!
