Weekly Macro Challenge - BOOKS

Shot with a slow (1") shutter and a rear-curtain flash, I pre-focused and took the picture with a ten-second timer. Held the book in position in my arms and turned the pages quickly to get the effect desired. Mild post-processing to turn the image to B/W and some distortion/perspective correction. Hope you like the result!

The book in the picture is "Malta Spitfire", narrating the story of the RAF pilot George Beurling. It's a very interesting read and probably the only book I read twice!

A wonderfully detailed explanation into the process, and as for the outcome Alistair, in my humble opinion, spot on..

Nicely done mate. Indeed a well thought out exercise.

We missed your interesting uploads of late.

Keep well..

Interesting image, wel thought out. Might just lift the contrast a bit to darken text and whiten paper.

Contrast is at maximum on the RAW editor, but I think I could have pushed it further through Paint Shop Pro then. Will try it out and upload a mod.

A creative idea, and its worked well. I dont think the pages of a paperback book are actually white, - but the image does look better more graphic with the added contrast.

I loaded a mod with the black and white points set in Photoshop,

regards

The higher contrast mods are an improvement. Good stuff.
