Painting with light

By Pricey
Exactly 12 months ago, I'm made my 6 year old Grandson a Light stick and promised to take him, and his 12 year old brother out to take some photographs. Due to to whats happened this year it wasn't possible.

But before the second lockdown came into place, we managed to get out for a few hours.
I saw these spiral steps, and thought it might make for an interesting photo.
I positioned the camera and focused on the steps, then connected a cable release and set the camera on 'Bulb'.
After a couple of trial shots to set the right aperture, One grandson operated the camera, while the other walked down the steps with the light stick to produce this effect.

What a great idea. Involving children in photography at an early age is a very positive thing to do and may well set them off on an interest for life. This works very well, and I'll bet they were thrilled.

By the way the two boys loved it, as did I. (So did many passers by who stopped and asked questions).
The boys can't wait to go out again!
