Paisley at Night

By Irishkate
Another from our club outing - it was quite dark so this wasn't easy to
capture - also I'm not comfortable with perspective and architectural images so I'll enable mods and learn from those who know how. The building is Paisley Abbey.
Delighted you liked my Hamills Waterfall - the petals floating in the water were from Himalayan Balsam which as Ronnie has told us
is very invasive and threatening our own plants. A big thank you to
Graham, William(Rookery), Billy,Patty,JRobert(Jeddahknoght111) and PhillG for those encouraging User Awards.

Nothing to comment on Kate - it's a superb image - the lights are spot on.

I've accepted the invitation and provided a quick mod.
No better than yours but I've brightened it a little and increased the saturation.

A good shot anyway, Kate.

Love the street lamps Kate, and the light flares, you have really done well, something I am not comfortable with night time shots, but this is very good,

A very well observed and exposed lowlight image with interest throughout.

Thanks for sharing Kate.

A most appealing and almost 'eerie' image, Kate.
I do like the lighting in the foreground and the way the abbey seems to be lurking in the background.
Thanks for solving the mystery of the petals!!

I like the starbursts from the street lamps but not so sure about the spots (flare) in the sky.

It's a very nicely composed night time scene, Kate, but I think you'll agree that Graham's mod. has rescued considerable detail.

I would perhaps would've liked to see more of the wall along the bottom but that is just my opinion. I think the Graham's mod is a slight improvement to what was already a decent, well exposed and processed image. I hope you have a few more from this sessionWink

I very much prefer the mood and feel of your original.... showing more detail isn't always appropriate.
It's mostly a well balanced composition, although I do think it might have looked better if you'd been able to pull back and include more of the wall and footpath in the frame... looks rather 'chopped off.'

I've done a mod, just for comparison's sake... converted, toned, and I cleaned up the worst of the dust flares.
( Not sure how it will look when uploaded, as I only used the small version 600 px )
