Pappalacta lake and reflected sky

By macxymum
The Papallacta lagoon is a water mirror located in the eastern foothills of the Andes Mountain Range of Ecuador. It is located at 3,180 m.a.s.l. in the buffer zone of the Cayambe Coca Ecological Reserve and the Antisana Ecological Reserve. The lagoon of Papallacta was formed by a damming of the Papallacta River, caused by the eruption of the Antisana volcano in 1726. Its waters come from the melting of the snow-capped Cayambe, Sarahurco and Antisana volcanoes, and from many creeks of the surrounding moors.
