Passing Storm...

By Scottishlandscapes
...I was on Eriskay which is the next island south of South Uist, joined by a causeway now and so much more accessible than with the ferry that used to ply back and forth.
The storm was to the north of me and passed by without blocking the warm sunshine from my rocky foreground.

There's an amazing sense here of the rush of the storm cloud over the stillness of the rocks. A fairly low viewpoint I think? It creates drama.

Where the weather can change in an instant. Sunshine and showers all at once. Simple eloquence, Dougie.

Looking from the light towards the heavier sky across that green sea, the yellow patch of lichens just adding that extra wee necessary feature to the otherwise almost monotone rocks.

Wonderful detail in the foreground and that lovely splash of lichen which stands out so well against the dark skies. I hope you had a great time there Dougie - looks like you had some good light!

I find these little showers are fascinating to watch from a safe distance. They can do so much to the light, as demonstrated here.
