The picture tells the story but what are the feet ?

I love those feet! I'd be tempted to crop much tighter, get rid of the top half of the blue doors and everything to the right of them, to concentrate on the balance between child and feet.

A wonderful colourful image. I too like the feet and the little boy who looks like he may be going to take his flip flops off too. I like Moira's suggestion of the crop.

A powerful image in its own right.
I'm glad that you showed it.

So I have cropped the image as folks suggested .

I guess this is what makes Epz most powerful as a friendly photographic community ,praise , recognition , differences of opinion and helpful suggestions.

So for me ( and I acknowledge my perspective coms from what was the motivation to shoot in the first place ) the version isn't a strong, because it was meant as a humorous distant portrait but also as a descriptive of what makes Goree so special. Which for me is about the abundant colour and slightly decayed nature of the buildings, which cropped, personally., I don't think it tells the story as strongly . But then I have been there ( twice) and I knew what I was seeing and I'll happily concede that looked at purely as a portrait ...the crop is stronger.
