Past Caring

By ketch
I have always wanted to use this title for something - this is Nunney Castle (in Somerset) or rather what remains of it. It is right in the centre of the village (of Nunney) and has a moat. English Heritage look after the site (hence the title).

The sky has been pulled but only a little to give a bit of drama. The bird just a happy coincidence. The colours in the castle keep walls are for real and have not been tweaked at all.

Thanks for looking - comments and criticisms always welcome.

Cheers

Robert

Thanks so much Dawn, Cherry and David very much appreciated.

I think the birds (crows or rooks I can never remember - is it if you see one crow then its a rook and if you see lots of rooks they are crows?) were almost certainly nesting and every now and again something would set them up - terrible noise and then silence again.

Cheers

Great shot. I like: The composition, colours (almost looks HDR in the bottom right corner) and the square formet. I like less: The bird. Personally, I would have made him/her disappear because I find it distracting.

Just a thought Chris about the format - if you have a less than strong image (such as this) you can crop square to give you much more upload space - this helps to build impact. With a good strong image it doesn't matter.

Re the bird - yes I debated and perhaps I should have loaded a cloned version without it. But hey it was there and the camera cannot lie!
