Peace and Calm

By Acancarter
This harmonograph image is popular with people that I've shown it to. I think the overall shape and form is quite peaceful and calming. With these images, there is often a slight colour toning. Here I've enhanced this with a slight duotone on LR. It took quite a few attempts to get this capture perfect. The normal problem is Liz opening or closing a window or door somewhere in the house or maybe an earth tremor, resulting in jogs or changes in the spacing of the lines. I'm probably getting a bit picky.

Thanks for all the votes and comments on 'Scary Forest' yesterday, and thanks to Phil for his excellent and artistic modifications and to John (tralfamadorean) for his UA!

Another lovely image and excellent title. Dare I suggest that you post one named Liz slamming the door! Wink

Thanks for all the comments and awards from Rob, Dave and Debra, most, most welcome! I wish I could share the full resolution print with you on this one. I still find it both mesmerising and calming, although its only been on my print viewer for a couple of weeks.

Kath, I'll dig out one or two of the 'failures' where the machine was jogged or a door shut. Its incredibly sensitive.

Thanks Andy

Wonderful image Andrew.
Reminds me of my childhood 'spirograph' toy.

Oh Andy, you have really made me laugh! The harmonograph images with squiggles needs little speech bubbles! What a good sport you are as well as being as whizz with technology and physics! Oh and photography! SmileSmileSmile
