Pecking Order

By Fefe
A raven from last summer perched on a table outside a cafe .
I love all kinds of crows, so full of character and Ravens are massive close up, he looked almost as big as a hen sat there GrinGrinGrin I got as close as I could with the lens I had on without scaring him off, then I think he scared me off WinkGrinGrinGrinGrin
Two rooks sat in the background having a chat I think Wink V1 is in Mono and V2 a slightly different pose.

Thank you all for recent C&C and UA's !

Never more...
I remember seeing ravens a few years ago, perching on picnic tables outside the cafe at an English Heritage site, but now I cannot remember where. I wonder if they are the same birds?

Very clever photography. An excellent composition that perfectly fits your title.
Mono version for me though generally I am a colour girl, I just think the B&W treatment brings a whole different atmosphere to this.

I like the profile version 2. It shows more of his character.
The mono is also quite interesting and gives a whole different feeling.

My fave is V1 as the mono makes him look more imperious. Love it.

This reminds me of when I was in Dartmouth last June. I was sat at a table outside the 'Platform 1' cafe/restaurant enjoying a meat pastie when these jackdaws came and joined me on the next table. They stood there just 2 or 3 feet away patiently as I fed them the crusty bits. They are quite large close-up too! 😁 A lovely set here, Diane, think I go for the lead as my fave, for his ruffled up feathers 👍

We have a raven on our street that thinks he owns the place...always telling us all off... and they supposedly remember peoples faces ,
Intelligent ! V1 for me for that ruffled appearance
Best regards
