I think not all street life photography ''must be'' black and white. Colour here introduces warmth and friendliness ironically, the familiarity of the skin tones (and the old lady's hand gesture) associates to the connection of blood, while the different (colour of) clothing plays a role of separation of the two females denoted young and old. My mod in black and white attempted to retain the shy feeling of the older lady and duplicate the mystery by halving the young girl's face.

good point, iam partial to the color myself but this is a part of a mini series for a volunteer project and they wanted B&W so go figure lol

Quote:Beautifu shot.
1/40 at 135mm! Thats impressive. The girls face is a little soft, may be due to slow shutter, but it does respond to sharpening.
I like the mono, but it needs to be more contrasty, and sharper. The same applies to the colour.
Thats done in the mod.

Willie
Thanks Willie, Mods look great

Quote:1/40 at 135mm is pushing it! At that focal length focus needs to be precise, and though you've done amazingly well avoiding camera shake, I think going closer with a shorter focal length might have given better technical quality. However, I realise that there may well not have been possible.
settings werent ideal but i didnt really have a lot of time to get technical on this one

Quote:Hi again,
It could be a lot worse!
I'm healthy and still gainfully employed, so I'm not complaining.
I can't PM you as that particular avenue of pleasure has been denied me but I'll keep in touch via the occasional slot like this.
Meantime, you take care.
