Pensive

By GeorgeP
This was taken some time ago on a business trip to Caracas. Returning to the Altamira Suites one night after dinner I noticed this gentleman sitting outside on the low wall half hidden by the surrounding hedge. I retrieved my camera from the room and in broken Spanish asked if I could take his photograph. I didnít want to intrude too much so I only took one image using flash as he was half-hidden in the shadows. This photo was taken before the current economic catastrophe that is Venezuela. I often wonder how he has survived.

Sometimes street people survive quite well-- they have naught to loose!

This is a fabulous portrait!

Thanks . . . and if you have to be a street person then at least the climate in Caracas is kind. Even so, right now, Venezuela is not the rosiest economy.
