At last! A wonderful portrait.
Most people would have taken the second shot but V1 has the story.
Who is missing from the empty seat?
Is the girl giving him a good telling off?
Terrific stuff - congratulations, Alda.

Image one please, a real cracker. The young lady on the phone completely oblivious at to what's happening right in front of her....

I marginally prefer V1, but they are different pictures - no need to choose, you have two stories from one take, that's good! V1 has the balance of the girl in the background, and the empty space between them. Two people isolated in their own little worlds. V2 is much more positive and concentrated.
Just a thought - flip these horizontally and I think you would have two more very different pictures - so a total of four from one original frame!
By the way, it's quite addictive isn't it, sitting with the camera innocently balanced on your knee... Wink

The joys of liveview and a silent shutter facilitySmile
V1 for me, for the balanced feel to it with the two figures and the space between them.

V1 - it seems to pose more questions...

She looks like she knows: did she?

If I'd tried to take that lady's picture, I would probably been arrested.

I was pretending to press buttons on my camera and trying to look as if I was looking for something - it was kinda a 'from the hip' shot Smile. Grin

V1 Alda, very good.
Curious, is one allowed to use pictures of people taken in public places, because I don't know?

Keith.

V1 all the way. Its a great candid, - V1 has more of a sense of the environment, and looks a better candid.

Now, if I had taken this shot, I mat have been arrested!

Well done

I'm pretty sure you're allowed to use image taken in public places. You and I have probably appeared in a candid somewhere along the line TongueGrin

How did society survive without the mobile phone; in fact Alda I think both images have a suggestion that her brain is fried from over use of the mobile.

V1 definitely tells a story, she's glued to the mobile in her own so called social world and yet is equally a social leaper which appears to be enforced by her defensive body language.............. What a great capture!!!!!
