Per Arduous ad Astra*

By Ericsamson
* It's difficult driving the Astra while wearing all this Covid clobber.

Cyril Joystick contemplates a bid for freedom two weeks before lockdown ends. He was caught by the paparazzi (which quite made his eyes water) ejecting from his penthouse hideaway at No 10 Downandout Street carrying nothing but a cardboard box containing a faulty sat nav locked on directions for Barnard Star, an optician's prescription and some out of date policy documents (old envelopes and fag packets.) Shortly after this image was taken he strapped on his jet pack, declared that 'it would all be over by Christmas' and launched himself into the wide blue yonder. We shall not see his like again ... until the next time.

Apologies yet again for my woeful lack of participation in all things EPZ not least my failure to respond to recent messages. I think I may have a touch of RSI (repetitive stupidity and idiocy) and the old hands creak a bit when using the keyboard. I shall therefore clear off for a week or two and go back to doing the exercises that the physio gave me a year ago. My own silly fault I'm afraid.🥴 🤣 The curse of the track pad has struck again and the vertical mouse is now proving indispensable.

I will catch up with today's uploads ... honest! Many thanks for the kind responses to my last image ... the shed and I are very grateful. 😀

Take care best wishes to all, G. 🙂

Cyril, your wit is matchless. They made damn fine motorcycles too, you would definitely need to wear this gear on one of those!
Hope your'e RSI gets better soon, try some Collis Brownes that'll exercise your wrist.
Stay safe

A terrific selfie. Did the mouse take it?
Our mouse in the kitchen manages to eat the peanut butter without setting off the trap!

To the tune of Nellie the eferlump...

Dom the advisor packed his box
And said goodbye to his desktop
Off he ran with the twittering Trump
Trump Trump Trump...

Together they joined the big circus,
Far, far away,
Dom to tame a new Boris
And Don to hire an apprentice...

which just might be a clue as to his next employer...

Our saviour Cyril returns, forget Brexit, pandemics and numpty politicians with all their filibusterings, all will now be well! Smile

Our Heros return in all his manly glory (steady at the helm Matron) heralds all that is good to come, vaccines, a human in the Whitehouse and a thick layer of that yellow gold, marzipan, on the Christmas cake. The puddings have been steamed and fed brandy, well that what she says she's doing ever day with the Napoleans Nectar as she heads to the larder, although she does seem a tad unsteady on her pins on the return journey, and Christmas has been saved!

Mass gatherings of the old relatives all in one room for food and festivity, with the young smiling faces of the children as they spread gifts, goodwill and a life threatening virus. Sad This is not going to end well.
I want to spend Christmas with my family as much as, probably more than, many, but I will forgo this one for the opportunity to be around to enjoy many more with them.

But, never mind, Cyril Joystick is back with us Grin, the Mermaids are immune (what with them being aquatic and all that), ditto the Newts, and as for the Unicorns, well Covid just wouldn't dare!

Now if you could just have a word with Matron please, she keeps cashing my cheques but unless the delivery man is a little light fingered, she has been a tad tardy with my medicated Ovaltine, and by Jove, I am in need!!!Grin

Best wishes to all,

Bertie

My dear Bertie yours is the voice of reason and good sense! Matron will be on the sewing machine, I shall be in my shed, the newts will bask in a cold pond and the unicorns will be gambling at Ladbrookes ... sorry ... gambolling in the leafy glades by the brook. 🥴
Stay safe and listen to Jeeves. 🧐
Yours festively, Ebenezer Gussie Finknottle Scrooge. Bah humbug! (Can't stand the damn things!)

How is it that two sensible men playing the fool can write more sense than the whole of the Tory front bench?
