Percy Kelly's Maryport

By Sue_R
I went on the Percy Kelly Trail around Maryport on Saturday as part of a local event called "When Percy Met Norman" in the hope I'd discover scenes I hadnít previously photographed.

It celebrated the life and works of two local men Ė artist Percy Kelly and poet Norman Nicholson, both of whom took their inspiration from the industrial heritage, landscape and people of west Cumbria.

Sadly I messed up my camera settings part of the way through so had to do it all again later in the afternoon to get the photos I'd missed.

I didnít find anything new to photograph on the trail but found myself looking at the views slightly differently so hopefully my images are a bit different to my previous takes on them.

Many thanks for your votes and comments on my previous uploads.

You're not the only one to mess up camera settings, Sue. I'll up my ISO setting when shooting indoors (without using flash) then can forget to reset it when I get outdoors again! In fact, I did this whilst on my French Alps holiday, after shooting the interior of a small chapel at ISO 800 went out into the bright sunshine and took 2 or 3 images still at ISO 800 before I realised... Love your composition and viewpoint here, being high up seems to compress things and squash up the buildings against each other Smile

The windmills like an alien armada biding their time.
Mucked up settings? I can give masterclasses galore on the subject!Blush
