Perfect Landing

By cameracat
Just one for all you aircraft fans.

North American Mustang P51 D, Janie making a perfect landing, following a superb display in October 2007....!

I had not practiced the art of panning for a long time, So was quite pleased with the way this came out....!

Also quite pleased with the lens I was using ( Nikon 70-300 ED.VR ) As I was at the 300mm end, And hand held with No VR on....!

Thanks for looking......Cheers....Vince

Thanks you one and all,

Apart from the old Chipmunk & Spitfire, The Mustang is a big favourite, It's one of those aircraft, That just looks right from any angle.......!

I'm quite lucky as Maurice the guy who owns " Janie " lives locally, And the airfield where he keeps it, Is around three quarters of a mile ( As the Crow fly's ) from our house, So we get lots of free Mustang displays, All year around Smile

Maurice also has a Harvard, So the pair are often seen flying together from time to time.......

But then we also get F15 Eagles, Tornados, The odd Harrier, Oh! and them Apache things flying past.....I know, Some people would hate that.....Smile I dont.....Smile

Chocks Away..........

Ian, Yeah! These are not a bad lens at all, The AF is quite swift, And locks on really well, The VR when you want it, Really works well too.

I don't do a lot of long range stuff, So it was not really cost effective to splash out on something horribly expensive, Thought about it though, But have my eye on the new Nikon 24-70 f2.8, mucho dinero jobbie, If ever supply catches up with demand......Sad
