Spotted at Seaburn Historic Vehicle Display on Bank Holiday Monday - this was the mascot on a Studebaker (from about 1927, so contemporary with Beatrix Potter).
He was lovingly polished chrome, gleaming like a mirror and reflecting the blue sky. The light was really bouncing off him and I nearly didn't bother trying - I'm glad I did as I was delighted by how this turned out.
Incidentally, Ty Chee's upload yesterday featured sky reflections on a much larger shiny sculpture, this has something of the same effect in miniature.
Bill will upload another detail from the same vehicle later this morning.
Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes. I'm just glad I didn't fall sick a day earlier, I'd have missed this. (And there's a lot more to come from the day!)
Tomorrow, a shot of the Angel of the North. Taken in Sunderland.
Thanks for looking.
