Today I bring you Pevensey Bay that has a Martello Tower in the left of the scene. In the background is the South Downs which lead onto Beachy Head to the left. These towers were built during the French Revolutionary Wars as coastal defenses. Today most have been converted into private living accommodation. This photo was taken from Bexhill seafront. Pevensey Bay also has a fine old castle (now in ruins) from the Norman Conquest.
