PHIL!

By achieverswales
Yesterday I went on a studio lighting training shoot that a friend of mine was running to give support, it was very sad because the four models booked! Not one turned up and most of the people also did not, we still had a good day using the men as models and Phil's wife and Son also, as most of you know I dislike taking portraits, but will upload a couple over the next few days.

One softbox and one snoot to give line to shoulders for seperation from background.

so unfair to the people running a studio lighting tutorial when people dont turn up and the models neither, thats not good but you must have learnt something from the day and practise can only be good - I dunno what a snoot is but it sounds very knowledgeable! I like the result you have achieved from that day - I dont do portraits eitherWink but have often thought I should trySmile

I like the grain effect on the left side Trev. I've put a shot of Mel on my site that I took yesterday. Even though the models didn't turn up we all learnt a great deal, especially the new guy's.

I would guess your model here had more character in his face than the missing models - wonderful portrait with a lot of contrasts.

Superb portrait Trev, very gritty, well done. Folk can be very annoying, hope you didn't lose any money over it, you need every penny for that 7,000 lens, lol.
