Quote:The trouble in the UK is lack of charging points. Newer houses are now coming fitted with an external charging point, and there is talk of it being compulsory in new houses, in the future. It is very dark area, the cost of replacing a faulty battery!! Good set of the new car, Peter.

The cost of a new battery is immense, you may as well scrap the car and get a new one, and that is not environmentally friendly either.

Rom what I know, the warranties on the batteries are pretty long...and by the time they wear out...there will be newer technologies.

I am all for phasing out fossil fuels for transportation
But we are witnessing the citizens of western country's not wanting lithium or Rare metals needed for EV technology dug up in their backyard ...my fear is the harm that will be done to third world countries and
thier people in order to mine these metals
In jurisdictions where such lax environmental standards and flagrant corruption exist. That would not be a
Win/WinSituation at all .
Cheers
