PHOTOGRAPHING PLANES

By Tish1
Yes, I know it looks nothing like a plane, but I dusted off my 300mm lens for the purpose of photographing the planes that were flying very close to where we were at this point.

Unfortunately, the minute I changed my lens, the planes seemed to stop flying and these images are the result.

I have not previously used this lens as such and would therefore appreciate your comments in terms of how to improve my technique with this lens.

I can see things are not right with these images; the sails look like something from an old picture despite the lettering being legible, so those of you who know more than I, which is all of you, please give me some guidance.

Many thanks to all who have taken the time to view and comment on my Lanzarotti uploads to date, it is very much appreciated.

Tish

At least the wind seems to have been blowing strongly - judging by the choppy water Smile

Hi Tish. I do like V1, have attempted a mod but editing is not my strong point and something I would like to master Grin

Thankfully the wind was blowing that day otherwise my mate might have expired; it was so hot that day, the only idiot out in the sun was me trying to catch these planes that suddenly became elusive. However, the bier over there is a real thirst quencher Grin

Thank you so much for the mod; it has stopped the Oceans from running out of my computer [made a real mess of the carpet]. I do like the mod it is much improved.

I like the mod very much, although it could not be seen in the original you have assessed the strength of the sun quite accurately; I'm loving it!.

I was obviously drunk from all the cold biers that I needed; and all that water seeping out of my computer on to my new carpet, has made a real mess.

V4 for me. I like the mod posted by Kathryn as it is level. Other than that, all your own work!!
