When I mentioned at our Camera Club that I was going on holiday to Pisa, one of our members said: "Oh, you must visit Lucca". So, on his recommendation did just that! There's a regular bus service, and it was only a 5-minute walk from hotel to the nearest bus stop, just outside Pisa's city walls. Located about 20 km north-east of Pisa, it's another beautiful medieval walled city, not as big as Pisa, but I had a great day out there. The Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, oval in shape, is the largest in Lucca and stands on the site of a Roman amphitheatre, ringed by medieval houses, now home to cafes and a market.
I visualised a wide panorama here, so standing at one end of the Piazza, looking towards the far end, took five portrait format images and stitched them together in Photoshop Elements to produce an almost 180° view.
