Tronchetto is an artificial island just to the west of the main Venice island, and is basically a big car park for traffic travelling across from the mainland. After arrival over the Ponte della Liberta (seen in my previous upload), a road diverts to the right to take motorists to the island. There is the vaporetto (waterbus) service which stops at Tronchetto to take visitors back across to Venice's main island, but this modern electric monorail train now provides a quicker and more frequent service. V2 is the monorail track, seen as we travelled underneath on the vaporetto a few seconds before V1 was taken.
