For
Lillian , who sadly couldn’t make it to Venice

Taken on Friday, my last full day, this is looking down onto the Piazzetta San Marco from the outside balcony of the Basilica. When I told Lillian I’d been inside the Basilica, she asked me to dedicate an image from there to her – so my first upload from Venice is especially for you, Lillian. It wasn't as sunny as this the whole holiday - the day before it
snowed!
Whenever I’ve been to Venice before, there’s always been queues a mile long to get into the Basilica, and
hating queuing, I’ve not been in before. However, I was passing at around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, and there was
no queue, so just walked straight in! As busy as it was around that area, I think most visitors were there for the Carnival, and pre-occupied with photographing everyone in their costumes.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.
