Picking up a scent

By rontear
This cheetah taken in Botswana, was a privalige to observe. This was the only time we found this species, it went onto hunt shortly after this image was taken.

Fantastic. I am just catching up on EPZ since returning from Botswana. We also were lucky enough to see a male cheetah. Just at dusk and of course I had the wrong lens on!! Well caught and beautifully lit

Ron, I hope you don't mind me commenting - It's a great image indeed. Looks like the Moremi in Botswana - North Bridge.
And ain't it amazing the number of poses the Cheetah serves up - never a cliche.
Lighting is great - good soft light.

A truly stunning animal, I had the pleasure of looking after one of these once in 1999, he was sick with Kidney disease, he used to lay across my lap like a domestic cat and purr, but to see them in their natural environment like this is something special, its such a beautiful pose and the essesnce of this cat is captured so very well, love this shot Ron Smile
