Pickmere Hues

By sherlob
This year I haven't had much opportunity for photography (for reasons I won't bore you with). I'm trying to push myself to get back out with the camera and to practise; there is a risk when out of practise to allow results you consider mediocre to hold you back from practising more, which is the opposite of what you need to do. From the images I've shot lately, this is the first I feel willing to share. It's still not the standard I aspire to (too much noise that I've had to control using software) but the result is ok. Currently, I'm using my old local haunts - going further a field will hopefully come as I feel the rust on my skills polish off and my confidence grow. Photography is a funny old game sometimes...

Good to see you back, Adam, you will soon be back in the swim, a really nice start, the sharpness on the fence makes the image for me.

Good to see you posting again, Adam, and with what really is a worthy shot to return with. I know you have high standards for yourself, and feel sure you will soon be satisfying the inner judge again.

Are you being too hard on yourself, Adam? Technical excellence is all very well, but capturing beauty matters, and - for me - matters more. Yes, you can have both, but sometimes you should bow to Julia Margaret Cameron's idea of adjusting things until they look beautiful...

Returning to photography is hard Adam, I know, done that one of late.
Nice to see you around again.
