Pictures at an Exhibition.

By Buffalo_Tom
While my 3 girls where having some refreshments during our visit to Essaouira I went off wandering with my camera. The town of Essaouira is a beautiful walled town on the Atlantic coast built by the Portuguese in the 17th and 18th Centuries.Definitely worth a visit if you pass by that way.
Anyway these paintings were placed along the wall of the town near the port area and there were approx 50 of them. The seller was close by and he was watching me like a hawk hoping no doubt I was going to buy one.The paintings looked like traditional Moroccan nursery rhymes.
When I started to take some photos of them he came over and was not to pleased.I asked could I continue and I gave him 10 Dirhams and he seemed happy with that.
I liked the contrast with the red hues of the masonry on the wall.
Any comments good or bad welcome.

Have a great day.

Going to see Dream Theater tonight in Newport/bit of progressive rock indulgence.I might grow up one of these days.

I love this - your eyes are drawn to the wall and then to the paintings below - JudeC
Almost as dramatic as the Music of the same name, maybe not as famous, yet.

All the very best Tom,

Well worth your little tip to the artist - a very intriguing shot, so colourful and backed by the textures of the wall.

He probably thought you were taking photos so that you could copy them when you got back home and sell them yourself... now there's a little moneyspinner.
Super capture shame all 50 didn't fit into the frame! ha-ha.

I think I might have been tempted, particularly by that one with the blue birds... Wonderful strong, vibrant colours, plus that expanse of weathered wall. Super composition.
