Pied Oyster Catchers - Coromandel New Zealand

By VincentChristopher
Took our morning drive along the west side of the Firth of Thames and came across a flock of oyster catchers on the shore at high tide- suspect that they were awaiting the tide to go out and collect their next meal....the flock had divided into two groups , left & right, but as I approached they moved a bit like sheep so going in the opposite direction.
Thought process - " I need a sheep dog " enter Janet my more than better half...she moved on the shore line towards them and they in turn moved in the opposite direction towards me...snap ....or more like rapid gun fire I took my shot of these marching troops on the shore
Hope you like
Vince

A very effective shot, Vince, with the repeated orange of their bills at the same angle.

Wonderful to get so close without them flying off (I've tried!) - maybe I should take Janet with me next time.
