Piering out over the severn

By madmatt
whilst out with buffalo_tom on sunday night we found this old peir between the new bridge and the old bridge. There looked to be an old peir house and possibly an old ticket hut with turnstiles. The pier has defiantly seen better days and i wouldnt recommend venturing to far off the path next to it as its very soft, and certiainly dont go to far when a high tide is due as it is pretty much covered!

Really happy with this image though! Showing off one of the pier supports with the new severn bridge in the background and a moody sky over head. The details and textures on the wood and metal brackets were fantastic.

let me know your thoughts.

I love how remnants of old structures are left as a kind of footprint on the landscape, providing us with a reminder of what's gone before.... great image, all the better for the inclusion of the modern Severn bridge.

Super composition, like the combining of the decaying pier and the and the new bridge
