Pigmy Cormorant Greeting The Afternoon Sun

By Natureale
Pigmy Cormorant (Microcarbo pygmaeus) is an awesome creature. It's a fish-eater, feeding also on smaller eels and even on water snakes. It dives from the surface, doing kinda a half-jump to get a more aerodynamic entry into the water. Under water it propels by its feet like a submarine by its propeller. If it catches a smaller pray, it swallows it under water surface. If it's a bigger one, it brings it out on the surface to "treat" it a bit. Finally, fish or eel got eaten in one piece. What an appetite! Smile
