Pink Ladies

By chase
I have been trying this light painting technique for some time, lighting each individual subject in separate frames and combining them in Photoshop.
This is my best effort so far, still a long way to go to getting it the way I want a frame to be....practise makes perfect....with work Wink

6 frames combined, lit with a small torch, in a blacked-out room.Torch covered with tissue paper to diffuse the light.
Same focus point used...that is something I need to work on Blush

There are some tutorials on line, finding one that actually works is a different matter !
Anyroad, here it is.
BTW, Pink Lady is the variety of apple I have used.

Thanks for taking the time to drop in.
Constructive critique welcome.
Janet xx

Well this result looks good to me Janet. Light painting is a tricky subject.

Some will be disappointed that the title relates to apples Wink

Sounds like a really interesting technique. I have never thought about using light painting in this way. Might give it a try.

I have to say this is an excellent effort and a good advert for the technique.

Looks pretty good to me. It's not easy. I have tried.....and failed. Did you know that Pink Lady sponsor Food Photographer of the Year? One of the categories is for the apples themselves. Most of the other categories are wider.

No I didn't, I must enter this one....hmmmmm on second thoughts Wink
Harold Ross has a lot to answer for Fiona, a very frustrating thing to get right, he makes it look so very easy, and no, it's not Blush

I hope I get it right someday Somnath, the images I have in my head......far too many !!
Thank you for your UA and Andy, wonderful to have your UA too, very complimentary from both of you.

Its a good set up Janet - I've read your info - the only thing I think is that perhaps items looks too evenly lit. But ....
