Pinnacle of Desire

By hrsimages
Two climbers (in red), who can just be made out on the left side of this image, are slowly scaling a snow and ice draped rock pinnacle on the north face of Ben Nevis. Winter climbing conditions on this mountain are notoriously challenging and there are fatalities almost every winter. This doesn't stop climbers from all over the world to come here and sample some of the best winter climbing routes that Britain can offer.
These images from a visit to 'The Ben' a few years ago.

I like all three of these mountain images but particularly like the one with the climbers, the red is striking contrast that makes the subjects definitely stand out.

Wow...the people are tiny, suddenly the mountain is far bigger!

Inclusion of the people creates such a good sense of scale! A very good set Howard.
