Pithead

By DJLphoto
another B & W image of mine, this time of the pithead windings at Woodhorn Colliery in Northumberland.

This site is now a museum and expresses the working of the mines and mining community in the North East.

I've been there Grin
Nice shot. You're right about the black and white having more impact. However the only negative is that the sky looks noisy. Reducing the noise in your editing software would cure that easily enough. Smile

Nice shot mate, the B&W is a big improvement, gives it a lot more drama, as for the noise, you could just call it grain.

think it gives a good gritty feel which adds to the impact.lesley

Love the comp and detail, I like how you have maintained some detail in the shadows.

The noise in the image is easily fixed, if noise plug ins are not that effective then try working on the sky from the original and then combine it with that. Better still if you saved the image keeping the layers then go back and work on the sky on its own layer.

Again a lovely image.

I like it - and I think the noise adds to v1. Angi
