I'm trying hard not to be distracted by thoughts of ham but I thought serrano was the adjective derived from sierra, ie from the uplands...? I think the good people of Seron may be indulging in a little bit of commercially creative etymology...
But an attractive place to sit with a good bocadillo.

No mad dogs around to accompany the Englishman, then? Cats are too wise, I think.

Seron is in the mountains and about 800 meteres above sea level, hams have been cured there since before the Romans came in around 200 BC. Have just read it is most famous for Jamon Iberico, made from the Black Pig rather than the whites. They hold a ham festival each year, so might be worth paying it a visit.

Funny you should mention mad dogs, I had one following me around and features in several shots taken that day. Have six dogs myself here, so must smell doggy or something. lol Was really hot and close that day, then thunder was heard in the mountains before it threw it down.
