Plateau Rosa & The Glacier

By Guillaume
Another one from my recent trip to the Italian Alps. Plateau Rosa, on the left, is at 3450m altitude. Just on its right (but actually quite someway behind) is the Glacier of Zermatt-Cervinia, also known as the "Gobba di Rollin" by the locals.

The picture is a hi-resolution scan of the original 645 slide.

Thanks for watching.

Oh God, it makes me want to go climbing again.
Alas not possible so I will just have to look at your images. They are stunningly superb.

Like the colours and lighting in this - good to see some blue sky as it grey and raining today.
Regards Richard.

Yep Richard! I agree, it's quite gloomy here in London too. I could do with another week skiing/taking pictures.

has to be seen large - super sense of scale indicated by the presence of the building at the top - great clarity

Loved the composition of this shot and you have handled the contrasty lighting really well. Lovely view.
