"Please Come Back..."

By lifesnapper
Hi all and many thanks indeed for your amazing and encouraging response to my 'Natural none model' it really is so very much appreciated.Smile
Furthering my journey into the strange, and often confusing, world of software processing, this is a full on portrait of an absolutely lovely young lady who became a very genuine and warm friend during our holiday in Afitos. We keep in touch on Facebook and she often asks us to 'please come back' as we are her favourite couple and has even mentioned free beer! Bless her, I know she's only joking about the beer (I think) but she is very sincere in every other way. However, her true beauty comes from within and she has a heart of gold.

I know this image may appear somewhat overworked but, I kind of like it that way.
I have been working on a diverse series of images using various effects and hope that you find at least some of them, pleasing to view.

All the best to all,

JohnSmile

You really are exploring the possibilities, John. I do like this; I suggest that if you produce effects that you like, then that's what you should be aiming for Smile The ultra-close-up is adventurous in itself; certainly works for me.

I really like the image John. The up close and the processing makes it a very powerful image.

I think processing is now a major part of photography and brings a whole new take to images. As you know I have been known to do one or two myself...

A very 'in your face' close up (pun intendedSmile) that works very well for me.
My only quibble is that shadow-like line above her lip giving the impression she needs a shave.

My only advice to you when experimenting is not to overdo the effects. Too many times excellent images are spoiled because the added effect is more prominent than the actual image, if you get what I mean...

Do please continue to share your new-found genre with us - the results thus far are excellent!

I've tried a mod - I simply pushed the midtones slider a little to the left in Levels, to make things lighter and airier...

Keep on with the experiments!

nicely done, John, and of course one important consideration in post-processing is about keeping one's creative energy under the lid to avoid becoming overenthusiastic and producing overcooked images as a result - this happened to me a hundred times

Nice work John. If was going to offer a smidgen of, hopefully constructive
advice, Leo's mod has addressed the thought far better than i could have explained it.
Keep up the good work SmileSmile

What a beautiful face and as you have said a lovely person too.
Love all your experimentation.
Agree with Malcolm about that line above the lips which can be removed by using the
spot healing too which I hope you know or can find.

Ignore all the 'rules' they are only to guide the wise and to be followed by the fools. Just please yourself as you will never please everyone.
Anyway I like it.Smile
