Pleasure Beach

By pmorgan
I'm fortunate enough to live 2 minutes drive from this beach (which is why 90% of my PF is from here). The title refers to the fact that even during my hour or so shooting last night, there were so many people getting enjoyment out of the area, from dog walkers to people fishing, people swimming and families enjoying the last of the light following a full day on the beach.

I'm sure if I hadn't taken up photography, which teaches you how to see, I might never have realized quite how lucky I am. I wonder how many others would have taken their surroundings for granted before discovering life through photographer’s eyes?

I agree entirely. There is a point where you feel that you have literally 'seen the light' and from that point on are witness to a brave new world of wonder. I often think that the shot is merely the attempt to convey this heightened awareness and secondary, while complementary, to the ability to truly see. I am eternally grateful that I found photography which is such a life enhancing medium and realise now how my brain, for many decades was disgarding so much visual information as it wasn't programed to consider it significant Grin Lovely shot btw.

Couldn't agree more... I'm amazed at how much I actually "see" now, rather than walking around oblivious to the beauty that we pass through every day, and boy do I wish I lived that close to this gorgeous location!

I think those are sentiments most of us share; you only really start to 'see' once have trained your brain to look in a different way. Great that you find so much variety for your portfolio from one place, that too is an inspiring point to make thanks!
