Plume moths are in the Lepidoptera family, with unusually modified wings. The forewings of plume moths usually consist of two curved spars with rather bedraggled bristles trailing behind. They normally rest with their wings curled up and extended laterally, often resembling a piece of dried grass. This enables them to go unnoticed by predators, even when resting in exposed situations in daylight.
