pole & nuthatch

By macdaniel
A similar image as the previous one but now with a nuthatch on a pole.
Maybe the nuthatch is even smaller than the wagtail;
no similarity this time 'tween the Dutch name and the English one.
Many of these birds have a popular name that sounds fanciful, a name having
a capricious or whimsical trait. The Dutch call this bird a boomklever meaning
sticking to a tree.
Funny with these names is that for me hatchnut sounds as plausible as nuthatch,
but kleverboom does sound wrong to me. It is what is called one's native tongue.

again kind thanks for being here x

Pretty sure that's a wheatear - colouration is similar, though.
