Ponte dei Sospiri view

By TrevBatWCC
Getting to bottom of the barrel scraping now from the Christmas holiday! These three shots were all taken from the same spot looking towards the Ponte dei Sospiri, better known as the Bridge of Sighs. Being completed in 1600, it's not as impressive as the Rialto bridge, but it's the second most popular bridge (after the Rialto) to be visited when in Venice. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo, and connects the New Prison (Prigioni Nuove) to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It's well worth a visit to the Palace and to be able to cross, it I've done it twice on previous holidays in Venice.
The lead was at taken at 18mm, V1 at 40mm, and V2 at 105mm.

Many thanks to Dave (HobbitDave), Dave (DaveNewbury), Oliver (bliba), Ronnie, Carol (canoncarol) and Isabel (Chinga) for their User Awards on my previous upload Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute , most appreciated Smile

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging Smile

My favourite is the lead image, Trev, showing all of those bridges. It looks as if the gondolier won't be able to make it under that bridge.....but, of course, he can.
