Poppy pepperpot

By oldgreyheron
Prowling the garden with the IXUS gave rise to another close up opportunity. This seed head knocked horizontal by the snow had nevertheless survived the hard weather in a depleted state!

Nice bit of differential focus, Mike. What lies beyond the seed pod used to be called a 'blurred background'. Now, apparently, we have to call it 'bokeh (which I think is Japanese for 'blurred background'). Jargon infests everything sooner or later. There are a few burnt out highlights on the pod. If you shoot RAW, you could probably pull in the detail on them in your computer - but I'm not sure whether an Ixus does RAW.
