Port Logan.

By Tooma
It's the time of year when we may well have been off exploring somewhere, but not so in 2020, as we remain in what is almost House Arrest; so here I travel, back in time, to a freer time, to a lovely wee village on the south west coast of Scotland called Port Logan. This pic shows the north side of the village.

"Port Logan, formerly Port Nessock, is a small village in the parish of Kirkmaiden in the Rhins of Galloway in Wigtownshire. The Gaelic name is Port Neasaig. Port Nessock Bay is now all that remains of the western end of a strait that in post-glacial times separated the main part of what is now the Rinns of Galloway from three smaller islands to its south. There was a ruined pier in the bay in 1790, at which time kelp and samphire were gathered on the coast to the south."

I had no thought of editing my pic as a mono b&w when I selected it, but I thought I would have a quick look. I liked it, so I processed it to give something of a sketched appearance, then brushed and painted in some clouds, and used dodge & burn to add depth to them. The Version is what I originally had in mind - a nice warm colourful summer scene at the coast - where I would love to be, and God willing, as I know He is, where I shall be again. Smile

It is a charming seaside village---Easy to see why you would like to be there enjoying the beach and so on! Both versions appeal in separate ways!

Lovely B&W of this delightful little village.
The area around Port Logan, Port Patrick and Sandhead is one of our favourite places.

Two excellent and equally impressive versions, Tom .
Such a beautiful location and a pity you'll have to wait a while for another visit but, needs must!

Very pleasing Scottish landscapes, Tom. This also brought back pleasant memories of a visit to this part of the World. Some very quiet and photographic villages and ports around this area. Your two images are very acceptable with slight preference for the mono.

An idyllic setting Tom , the mono seems to have the edge for me on this.
