Postman always knocks twice...

By Scottishlandscapes
...it's a long way to come back if you were only out the back door.

Did you wait for that red truck to take the photo? Makes it "snap".

The insignificance of man in the scale of the landscape. Even if he is a television superstar with a famous cat.
Dreamy mistiness, the thrill of isolation.

A sense of scale, in various ways.
I was wondering how long you waited for a vehicle to come by - and how good it felt when it was a recognisable and colourful one.

So well timed and a wonderful shot. Ann.
Ivor it was taken at 12.09, now I normally get my post in Glasgow between 12.30 and 1pm.

Moira I was waiting to some extent to see if a woman I had passed would catch me up, she made no attempt to get a lift and I never offer a lift to anyone.

She didn't appear, but then she might have been in the Post Van? We'll never know.

Dougie

better interest than the angler from yesterday.

A huge feeling of isolation and loneliness leaps from the screen, however the splash of post box red adds immediate comfort and a link with the outside world.

Lovely. The van gives it that much-needed sense of scale. But it would be good without, too.

Do the Post Buses still operate in Scotland? This is wonderful Dougie with the little van speeding on its way through this magnificent scenery.
