Interesting...........
the first thing that struck me was that you've gone b&w! Second thing is the flat perspective; the elements of the image are all in the same plane, but this suits the hard shapes of the pan an the colander. And I love the grainy high contrast but full tone finish which goes with their well used state, these are things which have worked hard.
The lighting is good (as usual). , It's a bit disconcerting that the pan has a shadow on its left where one would expect a highlight (given you say light is from camera left), did you have something blocking the light? Actually very effective as it gives the pan real roundness. The highlight on the "wrong" side is I guess from light reflected from the colander.
Unlike David above I have no problem with the background transition, lots of steam from cooking.
Well done Janet!

Thanks everyone.
Dave, great to have your UA, many thanks

Yes, a lump of black card angled towards the pan as I wanted the light much more on the bg, otherwise ,the pan would have no shape, there is also a silver reflector to the right, bouncing some of the light back in.
Angela, the rolling pin is white plastic stuff...nasty !! I don't have a wooden one which would have given this probably a little more form but, it is what it is...from my cupboard
