Hi All! Happy Thursday
Decided to give you a break from Howick, so here's on from our trip out on Sunday afternoon.
When we went up this way two years ago, MrTheLens told us about this super waterfall, and guess what? When we went into Berwick's tourist office, there was a huge poster of it. So we set off to find it way back then.
To say the least, Dave's directions were brief, consisting of "Go doon the road and it's just there, bit of a scramble doon, mind" - all done with his wonderful North Eastern accent - and try as we might, although we could hear the water, we could NOT find the way down to it, finally giving up the ghost and heading back to the car, surrounded by a swarm of flies with HUGE teeth (I'm a tad phobic about things buzzing around my head!).
So anyway, armed with better directions this time "I tell yer it's just doon there, man!" we decided to try again, and once again failed on our first attempt.
Fortunately, Paul had spotted a track off to the left, just after we entered the track, and with a "nothing ventured - nothing gained" attitude, we took it. After a short wander, in a mostly downwards directions, there it was - the now infamous Routin Lynn.
Hope you like, there was just about enough light to make it interesting, and it was worth the trip (I think). At least there were no flies around this time!
Thanks for calling in, going to cook dinner and then settle down to watch Liverpool on tele - fingers crossed!
LARGE might just be a bit more rushing-waterly bigger
